This year’s elections for active member and beneficiary representatives should be held on April 18th this year (3rd Monday in April). Any newly elected or appointed pension trustees begin their terms on the second Tuesday in May (10th).

40 ILCS 5/1-109-3(a) states in part that:

“…all elected and appointed trustees under Article 3 and Article 4 of this Code must participate in a mandatory trustee certification training seminar that consists of at least 32 hours of initial trustee certification…the training required under this subsection (a) must be completed within the first year that a trustee is elected or appointed…”

The Illinois Public Pension Advisory Committee, in cooperation with the Judson University Leadership Development Group has New Pension Board Member Training Program available on-line NOW!

This training is being offered in a convenient on-line format to all new Article 3 and Article 4 pension trustees with two options:

24 hour New Member Option – for those who have previously completed the required eight (8) hour Ethics Training Program.

32 hour New Member Option – for those who need to complete the entire 32 hour training requirement, including ethics training.
